Happy Halloween

Halloween isn't a big festival in Australia, only certain people are celebrating it. To be honest, I really wish that someday Holloween could become one of the big festival for Aussie, because it is just too boring only got Easter and Christmas each year~~~

As it is not Autumn here in Australia, so I couldn't get the Halloween pumpkin here~ (even it is Autumn, I rarely seen this type of Halloween pumpkin around)...

Alternatively, I have to use these Jack-o-Bucket Lanterns ~ anyway, it is always better than nothing.

I have a Halloween party at my place tonight~ better get everything prepare soon~

Happy Halloween everyone!

Jade Buddha Visiting Adelaide

This world largest jade buddha was visiting Adelaide between 3 Oct - 17 Oct 2009. "The Jade Buddha for Universal Peace is the largest Buddha carved from gemstone quality jade. Its size and beauty make it a wonder of the world. The world tour of the Jade Buddha is dedicated to universal peace. It is hoped that the Buddha’s presence will inspire everyone who sees it to find peace in their home, their schools and work, their family, and in their own heart." Happy Mid Autumn Festival 中秋节快乐

"The Mid-Autumn Festival (Simplified Chinese: 中秋节; Traditional Chinese: 中秋節; pinyin: zhōngqiūjié), also known as the Moon Festival, is a popular Chinese celebration of abundance and togetherness, dating back over 3,000 years to China's Zhou Dynasty. In Malaysia and Singapore, it is also sometimes referred to as the Lantern Festival, similar in name to a different festival which falls on the fifteenth day of the Chinese New Year).

The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month of the Chinese calendar (usually around mid- or late-September in the Gregorian calendar). The traditional food of this festival is the mooncake, of which there are many different varieties.

Traditionally, on this day, Chinese family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, and eat moon cakes and pomeloes together.

Accompanying the celebration, there are additional cultural or regional customs, such as:

Eating moon cakes outside under the moon
*Putting pomelo rinds on one's head
*Carrying brightly lit lanterns
*Burning incense in reverence to *deities including Chang'e
*Planting Mid-Autumn trees
*Lighting lanterns on towers
*Fire Dragon Dances "

From en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-Autumn_Festival

By the way, this photo almost straight from the camera~~ should be my 1st photo with the least processing~only added the Chinese Characters and increase very little bit darkness~ hope you like it!!

P/S:
To All My friends~~~ no matter what nationality you are... this lantern photograph is specially dedicate for you!!!

Happy Mid Autumn Festival my friends!!!!!

中秋節快樂!!!
